Shaw Fast-Set Concrete Mix is a specially blended aggregate of dry blended stone, sand, Portland cement, pozzolan and special additives, designed to set in 15 to 20 minutes. This makes it a time saving product for contractors. It can also be used for construction in colder weather. Shaw's Fast-Set Concrete Mix is ideal for setting poles or posts, and for other projects where a rapid set is required. It is also useful for repairs which require a quick return to service (such as walkways). For longer term repairs, regular concrete mix is recommended.
Shaw Fast-Set Concrete is available in 25kg bags at hardware and building supply centers. Five bags will yield approximately at 4ft x 4ft x 1in concrete slab. Six bags will secure a 4" diameter post 4ft deep.
Plan your project to ensure that once water is added, the job can be completed in 2 to 3 minutes. Pour contents of bag into a water-tight container and add +/- 3 litres of water, mixing it into a workable consistency. Place immediately. For colder conditions, keep the material warm and use hot water to ensure a rapid set occurs.
